SERIES 30,000 USED IN THE MINING INDUSTRY TO HANDLE DRY, ACID & SOLID PARTICLE-CONTAINING GASES

Vanessa Series 30,000 is capable of handling dry, acid and solid particle-fines containing gases. The triple offset design and the unique metal-to-metal sealing elements ensure our valve performs tight shut-off at high temperatures and pressures. This functionality is becoming increasingly sought after in the mining sector with requirements usually ranging from isolation and flow/pressure control, to ON-OFF and emergency/safety operations.

Steel production processes dispose large volumes of gases. These are increasingly being used as an attractive energy source option for power generation. Vanessa Series 30,000 has been successfully installed on TRT (Top Pressure Recovery Turbine) systems converting hot coal gas into energy.

Moreover, Series 30,000 is used on air separation units connected to steel plants (e.g. switching valves on molecular sieves and cryogenic valves for cryogenic distillation) and is able to manage syngas, acid gas (NACE and critical NACE) and oxygen on coal gasification processes. Oxygen gas, in particular, is handled at various concentration levels by using different valve construction materials, ranging from carbon steel to high nickel alloys, and with appropriate cleaning procedures according to international standards.

Emerson Vanessa is making its mark in China, the world's largest producer of iron and steel. Current clients include the world's top five steel producers (source: KPMG 2010): ArcelorMittal, Tang Steel and Han Steel (now Hebei Steel), Bao Steel, An Shan Steel and Benxi Iron & Steel (now Anben Steel), and Wuhan Steel.
